It looks like Timothee Chalamet is still gunning for the Oscar he didn't win for Call Me By Your Name. In the upcoming Amazon Studious film Beautiful Boy -- that title's a bit on the nose, isn't it -- Chalamet plays Nic, a suburban-teen-turned-meth-addict. While Amazon has yet to release an official trailer, they did unveil footage from the film, in which Chalamet argues with his father, played by Steve Carell.
"I'm attracted to craziness and you're just embarrassed because I was like, this amazing thing, like your special creation or something and you don't like who I am now," says Chalamet. "Who are you, Nic?" asks Carell, to which his on-screen son responds: "This is me, dad. This is who I am."
The film has already generated a fair amount of Oscar buzz for both actors. Watch the first look at Beautiful Boy below.
Beautiful Boy hits theaters October 12, and an official trailer is coming soon.
