Mark your calendars--NYC Pride and NewFest, New York's LGBT Film and Media Arts Organization, just announced the lineup for OutCinema. An annual event to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and pride through film, the three-day experience (June 18-20) features a diverse roster of trailblazing films, accompanied with thought-provoking Q&As, and of course, after-parties.
Opening the event on June 18 is the premiere of Ideal Home, a new comedy from writer-director Andrew Fleming (The Craft, Dick) starring Paul Rudd, Steve Coogan, and Alison Pill that tells the story of an extravagant gay couple when their lives are turned upside down when a 10-year-old shows up claiming to be their grandson.

Other special presentations include James Crump's award-winning documentary Antonio Lopez 1970: Sex Fashion & Disco featuring Jessica Lange, Grace Jones, and Pat Cleveland, as well as a screening of the galvanizing documentary From Selma to Stonewall: Are We There Yet? (complete with a panel conversation of the intersectionality of African-American and LGBTQ civil rights movements, as well as the presence of homophobia in religious sects). That, and so much more are coming your way.

"With this year's featured OutCinema film presentations," said Nick McCarthy, NewFest's Programming Manager, "we've chosen to showcase the diverse voices within the LGBTQ community while channeling the intersection between culture, industry, and activism--acknowledging the adversity the LGBT community has faced while celebrating the glory of our victories."
