Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) has had enough of Michael Meyers' shit. In the first trailer for the new Halloween film, Curtis' character has come full circle in the decades-spanning franchise. Strode has now aged through several scary movie tropes - the damsel in distress, the not-this-again girl plagued by the same killer in the sequel(s), and the jaded adult near acceptance of her lifelong curse - having now made her way to the vengeful older woman with a mane of silver hair ready for it all to be over.

The trailer serves double duty, setting up the return of Meyers and teasing at the steps Curtis has taken in the 40 years since this nightmare began to prepare her for the final confrontation. Brandishing a knife? Check. Perfecting her shotgun skills at her backyard shooting range? Def check. A thirst for vengeance fueled by decades of near-death experiences resulting in a restless life? What do you think? "You don't believe in the boogie man?" Strode asks. "You should." Watch, below.
