34 Inspiring Portraits of the Legendary Queens at Bushwig

Stormy weather couldn't keep thousands of queer New Yorkers from attending this weekend's Bushwig at the Knockdown Center in Queens. Approximately 160 rising and veteran performers sashayed across the stage at the annual drag and music festival. Labeled the "Coachella of Drag," the festival is currently in its sixth year, and this year's bill was one of it's best yet.

Alaska summed up the experience best:

"Bushwig is amazing. I've been wanting to be a part of it for years and it's a dream come true to finally have been there. You can truly feel the energy of being on the cutting edge of drag, of fashion, of gender expression. I fully expect to see many of the looks and trends of Bushwig showing up on fashion runways in seasons to come."
