Watch Jonathan Van Ness and Karamo Brown Slay ‘Telephone’

Karamo is really feeling himself as Beyoncé, huh?

Queers have long been perplexed by Lip Sync Battle, which seems to exist in an alternate universe where drag queens aren't a thing (except for RuPaul, who Nene Leaks portrayed in a battle against Todd Chrisley) and straight people invented lip syncing. Thankfully, Queer Eye's Fab Five are reclaiming this gay art form in an upcoming episode of the Paramount Network's reality competition show.

In a new clip, culture expert Karamo Brown and grooming guru Jonathan Van Ness slay Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone" -- heard of it? Thanks to Lip Sync Battle's production team, they're both costumed in the exact looks from the iconic music video, down to the Diet Coke cans in JVN's hair. Brown is clearly feeling himself in his Beyonce wig -- maybe they'll use their Netflix connections to make an audition tape for season 12 of Drag Race?

Obviously, you'd assume that JVN, the de facto HBIC of Queer Eye, would be the lip sync queen of the Fab Five, but based on that teaser my money is on Karamo. He has that magical "first time in drag" glint in his eye. Also, the thoughtful viewer will note that cheering them on in the background are Bobby, Tan and Antoni dressed as three different incarnations of Britney Spears (from the "Toxic," "Circus" and "Oops I Did It Again" music videos).

In another preview clip, the Fab Five (minus JVN, so maybe Fab Four) warm up for their battle with a game of Liptionary, a totally real game they absolutely did not make up as a way to promote their appearance.

The Queer Eye episode of Lip Sync Battle airs January 17 on Paramount Network.
