One of Drag Race's most beloved queens just gifted her fans with a lovely Valentine's Day present.
Season seven winner Violet Chachki launched her own YouTube channel on Thursday morning with a cupid-themed makeup tutorial inspired by fashion designer John Galliano.
In an exclusive interview with Out, Chachki says that she was wary to launch a YouTube channel because of her lack of tech savvy, but that she's ready to bring YouTubers something new.
"I tend to be very old school when it comes to my approach to drag and fashion," Chachki says. "I typically prefer a live experience." She adds, "I wanted to bring something to YouTube that I haven't seen before. This channel is all things entertaining and glamorous but also a bit historical and educational."
Chachki says she already has plans for several series on her YouTube channel. "Digital Drag," which the cupid tutorial is a part of, will be a place where Chachki can reclaim her creativity and explore new looks. "Runway Rewind" will feature Chachki and a guest looking back at old runway footage where they'll watch, react, and kiki while also talking about the significance of each fashion brand and its creative director. And finally, the series "Violet Does" will be a vlog-style series about Chachki's travels abroad.
Though this will be Chachki's first venture into hosting her own content, she's filled in several times as a talking head on World of Wonder's "Fashion Photo Ruview." Given how arresting Chachki's cupid look is, we're excited to see her test even more experimental looks in the future. And we won't have to wait long: Chachki plans to release new videos weekly. Check out the trailer for her channel below.
