Is there anything Courtney Act can’t do?
Courtney Act proved today that she may just be reality TV's newest queen.
After competing on Australian Idol, making top 3 of season six on RuPaul's Drag Race, winning UK's Celebrity Big Brother and hosting The Bi Life, Courtney Act has added another reality TV show to her long list -- and it looks like she's here to slay again.
On Monday, Dancing with the Stars Australia tweeted out a clip of Courtney's first dance routine, set to Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still." For the number, Courtney donned a colorful pink-and-orange psychedelic 60s beaded dress and an Ariana Grande-length blonde ponytail.
Courtney Act won UK's Celebrity Big Brother after garnering 49.43 percent of the public vote, higher than conservative UK politician Ann Widdecombe, who got 39.5 percent of the public vote. Courtney is the first drag act to compete on Dancing with the Stars, according to Gay Star News.
Some news outlets have called Courtney and her dancing partner Joshua Keefe DWTS Australia's first same-sex dancing couple, though Courtney did come out as genderqueer in 2015. Courtney has indicated that she will be dancing on the show as Courtney and rehearsing out of drag. She also said that she would like to perform out of drag at least once.
"I would want to be Courtney and dance with a male partner," she says, Gay Star News reported. "And then halfway through the series I'd come out as Shane and there would finally be same-sex dancing on the show."
She added, "I've seen same-sex ballroom dancing and it's just as fabulous."
Courtney and Keefe got a high score -- 23 out of 30 points -- for their routine.
