The Madison shakes up the Fire Island Pines scene with a new art series
Summer days in Fire Island are best know for sun, sea, cocktails, and men in small swimsuits walking up and down the boardwalks. Ain't nothing wrong with any of that.
But there is an opportunity to take in some genuine culture while you're taking in the other sights and sensations, and you can do it over a cocktail. And probably while wearing a small swimsuit.
The Madison (22 Atlantic Walk), a boutique guest house in Fire Island Pines, is launching "The Madison Art & Fashion Summer Series," a program of art exhibits to be displayed throughout summer at the guest house.
The first exhibit, in conjunction with The Pines Gallery, features 14 works by New York City-based contemporary artist David Paul Kay, and launches with a opening cocktail reception this Saturday, June 14, from 4-7pm. The exhibit will run through July 3. The artist will be in attendance, and all the works, in acrylic and enamel on canvas and wood, are for sale.
RSVP to attend at the event's Facebook page.
