The finest of Fire Island Pines's guesthouses continues "The Madison Art Summer Series" with its third show this season with "Stolen Glances," a show of the work by acclaimed dance and theater photographer Kyle Froman.
This exhibit is the final in a summer-long series at the Madison Guest House. Froman was a member of the New York City Ballet for 13 years. The "Stolen Glances" exhibit is an intimate behind-the-scenes view from inside the New York City Ballet men's dressing room during a recent performance.
The exhibit kicks off with a poolside cocktail reception, open to the public, on Saturday, August 30 from 4:00-7:00pm. The photographs will be displayed at The Madison (22 Atlantic Walk), through September 20, 2014. All are invited to attend the event.
Froman was a member of the New York City Ballet for thirteen years. His 2007 book, In the Wings: Behind the Scenes at the New York City Ballet, featured photos shot in dance class and performance rehearsals. He has photographed the marketing campaigns for The Phantom of the Opera, After Midnight, Billy Elliot: The Musical, Mary Poppins, Memphis, Les Miserables, Diner: The Musical, and Flashdance: The Musical. His work has appeared in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out New York, Playbill, and Dance Magazine.
RSVP to the event's Facebook page. Fire Island visitors who call and mention "Madison Summer Art Series" will get a discount on room reservations at The Madison (631-597-6061).
