If I hadn't come out of the womb a fully formed Kinsey 6, I would be married to musician, promoter, and celebrity fitness instructor Cherie Lily. Well, and if she weren't already married to Andrew W.K. Not because I'm scared of him -- he's just as sweet as she is -- and we're talking sweet -- but because the two are so good together it'd be a crime to split them up.
Cherie Lily is not only one of the hottest women I've met (and you know when a homo thinks a chick is hot, she's really hot because unlike straight guys, homos can be objective about that sort of thing since we don't just toss out compliments willy nilly in an effort to get into any ol' chick's pants) but she's also incredibly talented and has found a campy, sweaty, dance-heavy way to fuse her two great loves -- music and fitness (she teaches classes at several NYC gyms as well as private classes and trains superstars like Sia and The Bravery's Sam Endicott) -- into signature songs and performances which she's collectively dubbed Houserobics.
Cherie recently stopped by the Out studio to chat about her upcoming EP entitled Werk, which was inspired by NYC's underground voguing balls, as well as her plans to take over the fitness world in 2010 (she has a line of workout DVDs and a "top secret" exercise invention slated for release later this year):
Cherie Lily and her gang of leotard-ed back up dancers and singers will be taking the stage tonight, April 12, at La Cita, 336 S. Hill Street in downtown Los Angeles for the raunchy, rip-roaring Mustache Mondays party. On April 16 she'll be curating and performing at one of her Cherie Lily Presents gigs -- the Menya Graduation Party -- at Santos Party House, 96 Lafayette Street, NYC (which Andrew W.K. co-owns). Featured performers will include Menya, Nyle, Cherie Lily, and Andrew W.K. will be DJing.
