Need To Know: Courtney Act

Courtney Act, Australia's most glamarous drag queen, made a named for herself in 2003, when after trying out and failing to get on Australian Idol as Shane Jenek, she returned for the next day's audition as Courtney Act and made it onto the show. In addition to being the first drag contestant on Idol, Courtney Act was the franchise's first out contestant. No other contestant on any Idol show throughout the world has ever been out during production.

Since then, Courtney Act has become the owner and hostess of three of Australia's most successful club nights (Disgraceland Sydney, Melbourne, and Saturday Fucking Night), appeared in Rent, became the face of Sheer Cover makeup and was voted one of FHM's World's 100 Sexiest Women. She's also put out two singles for Sony/BMG and recently released her first independent track, "Welcome To Disgraceland."

We caught up with Jenek to chat about the creation of Courtney Act, singing Happy Birthday to Lady Gaga, and Courtney's appeal for straight men:
