Store Open: Maison Martin Margiela Opens E-Boutique

For those of you who have the pockets deep enough to love all things Margiela (yes, Jay-Z, that means you), good news! No, the notoriously mysterious designer hasn't revealed his true identiy nor has he added physical real estate to his incredibly trendy and coveted empire of brilliantly subversive designer clothing and accessories. He's opened up a virtual store to satiate the desire to sport those who pride themselves on wearing four white stitches at the base of their neck. The shop mimics his previous website, which was riddled with oddities and based on the design of early websites. The main page even features an aptly sterile and insider-y video of lab-coated technicians (their heads conveniently out of the camera's view) placing plain white boxes in a supermarket shopping cart, quirky and perfectly in line with Margiela's singularly bizarre vision.

The shop is actually quite extensive and seamless, and has a particularly good men's selection. It even features a section where you can shop looks from Margiela's look book, a nice touch.
