Marc Jacobs to Remain at Louis Vuitton

Marc Jacobs, and his business partner Robert Duffy, aren't going nowhere. With Marc's eponymous line expanding rapidly, including the news that there would be an uptown location opening on Madison Avenue this year, and his diffusion line Marc by Marc Jacobs hitting its ten year anniversary, you would think the man is on top of the world. But WAIT! It gets better -- Jacobs is also the creative director at Louis Vuitton, a position he's held since 1997. In that time, he's turned the stodgy leather luxury goods label into a teeming think tank of excitement -- and a Paris fashion week highlight with collaborations with artists like Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince and Kanye West pllus Jacobs' own penchent for dramatic and exciting designs. Now you can count Louis Vuitton as one of the hottest luxury brands around -- and that now includes their ready to wear. Hell, in the past few seasons he's shown everything from bunny ears (later modeled for the ads by Madonna), to cheongsams this past season (plus model Kristen McMenamy in painted-on zebra stripes). The man is a mad genius! No wonder Duffy unveiled that Vuitton and Jacobs are hammering out the legal particulars to continue their romance. Looks like Anna will continue to sit front row at Vuitton, desperate to shoot everything, and fashionistas far and wide will carry their LV monogrammed anything with pride.
