George Michael's Comic Relief charity single, a cover of New Order's "True Faith," has stormed the U.K. singles chart, even though many (most?) journalists have ragged on it for being overly auto-tuned (and -- sorry George -- it is).
Michael recently responded to the criticisms and to what he perceives as the media's on-going attempt to kill his music career: "What makes me laugh is that after 30 yrs they still act as if it's newsworthy that I don't sell to kids/the singles market the way I did :) Face it paps, hacks and haters... The album will sell great, the tour will sell out, and the fans remain some of the loyalest in the world. Nothing you can do about that..."
The video for the song, below, is currently #2 on the iTunes UK chart and the CD single is number 1 on Amazon UK's site.
