Burberry's April Showers Hint of Spring
We're already one-third of the way through April and it's only just starting to warm up here in New York. But this endless muggy gloom versus the glorious moments of sunshine is an age-old battle in dear old England. Perhaps that's why Burberry chose to launch its latest iteration, April Showers. A close cousin of the Burberry Brit collection, this capsule is heavy on vibrant colors, slim tailoring and youthful energy but still all well within the familiar Burberry catalog. Trenches crafted from lightweight high-tech fabrics are matched with super saturated sweaters in dazzling yellows and reds and slim, versatile trousers -- overall confident and frisky. April Showers includes some sunny accessories like a clear, plastic tote for the ladies (although we know some boys who would rock it, too). While the ad campaign, shot by Mr. Mario Testino, of course, features Sophie Kennedy-Clark and Matthew Beard (pictured above) looking all sorts of forlorn, their puppy-dog eyes cant overshadow the inherent injection of cheerfulness that this latest Burberry offering has to give.
