First Look: The Trailer for Animal Charm

Directed by Ben Charles Edwards, Animal Charm is a delightfully garish and macabre tale about fame, fashion and revenge starring Sadie Frost as the deranged and sadistically stylish Miss Anne Thrope, a fame hungry, ex-fashion mogul with a controversial lust for fur, and Sally Phillips as her mobility-scooter-powered nemesis, Audrey Hoober.

The film's roll call of quirky, wonderfully warped characters has attracted surprisingly big named performers for such a low-budget production including Ugly Betty's Michael Urie and Boy George, who plays, ironically, a less than compassionate police officer, alongside numerous cameos from British underground figures and clubland celebrities.

Just as remarkable as the film's cast is the fact that none of them were paid for participating in the film. Instead, the actors volunteered their time out of love for the project and script. This amazing generosity extended off screen, too, with contributions from fashion heavyweight Vivienne Westwood and the invaluable collaborations of Director of Photograph David Morgan (Harry Potter), Tim Deiling (The National Theatre's lighting designer), and Dominic Wells (ex-Editor of Time Out and film correspondent for The Times) who co-wrote the script with Edwards.
