Housing Works Hosts Seventh Annual Design on a Dime

For those of you who don't know of Housing Works, you should. It's a fabulous store that carries second-hand goods, but with first rate panache. You won't find ratty JC Penny brand polos or a sagging couch rescued from the home of someone who was recently featured on Hoarders at this establishment. Uh-uh, not here, no siree. You will, however, find designer duds and chic homewares that, although may have had a previous owner, are still in great shape and ready for a new life. Not only that, but Housing Works is committed to serving the HIV/AIDS community with several initiatives ranging from community service to advocacy -- so it's a win-win for everyone.

Tomorrow, Thursday May 5th, the folks at Housing Works are kicking off their seventh annual Design on a Dime event, over at the Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street, New York, NY 10011) at 7pm. Buy tickets (hurry! They're almost sold out!) to get a sneak peek at the goodies being offered and mix and mingle with a crowd of stylishly like-minded do-gooders like yourself, including Nate Berkus and Iman, while sipping on cocktails, nibbling hors d'oeuvres and enjoying live musical entertainment. On top of all that, you'll get a preview of the amazing home decor and furniture on sale for 50%-70% off retail price. We dare you to beat that!

If you can't obtain a ticket for tomorrow's soiree, fret not -- you can crash in on the free public sale on Friday May 6th and Saturday May 7th (and by free we mean that you don't have to pay to get in, not that the goods are free, silly). Now that you think about it, couldn't your home use a little freshening up? Yeah, we thought so too.
