Queer Youth Advice For Educators

In the light of recent tragedies, many teachers will find themselves in the position of wanting to protect their LGBT students from bullying and other kinds of abuse, but they may not know exactly how to go about it. Thanks to the work of a national nonprofit called What Kids Can Do (WKCD), poet and author Abe Louise Young spent six months traveling the country and talking to LGBT youth about what they need in the classroom.

The result? A pamphlet called Queer Youth Advice for Educators: How to Respect and Protect Your Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Students that offers concrete tips for adults who are ready to provide LGBT youth with a fair and loving learning environment.

You can read more about the pamphlet and download a PDF here.
