'Snow White' Teaser Packs a Punch

If we were Julia Roberts, we'd be nervous.

2012's shaping up to be the year of Snow White. Or at least that's what the movie producers want. There's been much talk of the multiple projects dealing with the classic Brothers Grimm tale of the beautiful girl and the red poisoned apple: one being released in March, another in June, and--gasp!--a third at a thus-far undetermined time. Directed by Tarsem Singh, Mirror Mirror stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Lily Collins as the princess herself, and hottie-of-the-moment Armie Hammer as Prince Charming. Sounds fabulous, right? Of course!

But those tricky little guys over at Universal dropped a bomb today in the form of a teaser trailer for the second to hit it out of the gate next year, Snow White and the Huntsman, with Twilight superstar Kristen Stewart and Thor beauty Chris Hemsworth as the title characters. No one knew what to expect when pictures of Stewart in ferocious battle garb riding roughshod atop a horse leaked a few months ago, but with the footage seen? Count us in. A sort of Lord of the Rings-ian fairy tale, the technical specifications look stupendous, Hemsworth all dirty and gorgeous (as per usual), and the thought of the notoriously monotone Bella Swan portraying supposedly "the fairest of them all" not that far-fetched anymore; it's all so sweepingly epic. Oh, and did we mention that Charlie Theron plays the vain bitch everyone loves to hate? Her deliciously icy gorgeousness is a perfect fit for the crazed queen.

Surely Tarsem and the Mirror Mirror crew will have something bright and shiny up their sleeves as well, but...if we were them? We'd be a little bit nervous, 'cause frankly Snow White and the Huntsman is shaping up to be a big ol' summer blockbuster if we've ever seen one.
