It's being reported that Carson Kressley will join Carrie Fisher and Emmanuelle Vaugier in a Hallmark Channel remake of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol for the 2012 holiday season.
"Kressley plays a colleague who is secretly organizing a revolt against Carol, and Fisher plays the late founder of publishing company, who takes Carol through an eye-opening journey of her past, present and future," tattles The Hollywood Reporter.
We're thinking this is great news. Fisher is, of course, pretty incredible. And while Kressley is known to grate on some, we can see how he'd spruce up a Hallmark Channel holiday movie.
Of course, remakes always face some difficulty considering how attached people tend to be to original cinema classics. Are remakes ever better than the original? You be the judge, check out five scenes from Chrismas movie remakes below.
How about Jim Carrey in the 200's The Grinch Who Stole Christmas?
Or Vanessa Williams in A Diva's Christmas Carol?
Remember child star Mara Wilson in the remake of A Miracle on 34th Street?
And our favorite, 2006's Black X-Mas, a remake of the '70s slasher flick.
