For its upcoming issue, theNew York Times Magazine has done a pretty incredible job of taking some of the year's most talked-about actors (all of whom played nice people) and giving them a chance to work against type and play some of film's most memorable villains.
Brad Pitt as "Peter Lorre -- with a dose of Kramer" is easy to love, but our favorite might be Rooney Mara, who is sort of famous now but in about two weeks will be the most popular lady in the world thanks to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, as Alex from A Clockwork Orange.
''There is something off about Alex, something slightly androgynous and something much more fascinating and complex than simply a 'villain,'" she told the magazine. "I also knew it would save me time in hair and makeup with only having to apply one fake eyelash.''
Other stars who got to walk on the dark side? Viola Davis, Glenn Close, Pariah's Adepero Oduye, George Clooney and a very dapper-looking Ryan Gosling amongst others. Check out all of the videos here.
