The Starz channel is gearing up to combine two of every gay man's favorite pastimes: Facebook stalking and drooling over the impressive bodies of TV's Spartacus.
In hopes of creating some buzz around the new season of the show, which we have heard nicknamed Blood, Sand, and Ass, the network has announced an upcoming Facebook app called Take Up Arms--it's a three-month ad campaign with four different phases, each as gay as the other.
Phase One: Pick a leader. Are you a rebel or a Roman (read: a sexy bad boy or a clean-cut Corbin Fisher)? Next, recruit friends. Then, upload pictures of your face and place them onto your favorite character's (really, really, really amazing) body. Post the results on your Facebook wall (but, don't actually, because everyone will think you're weird).
Phase Two: Make a video mash-up with content from past and newer seasons of Spartacus. Try hard to make it resemble an awesome, high-quality gay porn and bonus points will follow.
Phase Three: Create customized Spartacus photos. This one is pretty vague, but we're hoping for very compromising poses.
Part Four: Spartacus Trivia. But, let's be honest: this is the phase at which you'll have to stop and watch some actual gay porn.
