Molly Thomas: This Beauty Could Be The Very First Gay Miss America

Although she didn't crack the Top 20 in the Miss California competition, openly gay contestant Molly Thomas seems to have had quite a good time just participating.

The 19-year-old, who currently holds the title of Miss Abbey West Hollywood, told TMZ that the contest wasn't only a way for her to go where no out lesbian had gone before, but it was also a chance to take in some lovely scenery.

"There are 270 girls and we had about seven dressing rooms. Everyone was pretty frantic. It starts in swimwear... I wasn't complaining," she told the website. "I had a little bit of a kid in the candy store syndrome, but I was very good.

And although she didn't take home a crown, or any of the other contestants, Thomas has vowed to run again next year.
