The '8' star gets political after Golden Globes win.
When speaking to the press after his Golden Globes win, George Clooney took the opportunity to get political.
Asked by a journalist what he thought of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's anti-gay views, Clooney--who will star in an upcoming one-night-only reading of Dustin Lance Black's Prop 8 play 8--said that he's confident the fight for equal marriage rights is the "last leg of the civil rights movement."
This isn't the fist time Clooney has spoken in favor of gay marriage. Just this week, he made similar statements in an interview with E!
However, Clooney remains firm about his own campaigning. The Descendants star believes the presence of celebrities "can still be polarizing," no matter how versed on the issues they are, so don't expect to see him share a stage with President Obama any time soon.
He will be on stage March 3 for the West Coast version of 8, though. So look out for that and for any other great things George may say in the mean time.
