The state becomes the second in the nation to offer gay-specific tags.
You've seen license plates supporting whales and birds and veterans. And if you're in Indiana, you will soon see shows of support for equality on some state license plates.
Featuring the logo of Indiana Youth Group, the plates will promote the cause of tolerance within Indiana's younger set and cost $40 more than traditional license plates in the state, $25 of which will be donated to the group, according to the Chicago Phoenix.
Though this is definitely a victory for the cause, it didn't come without a fight. Indiana Youth Group has been attempting to get the plate approved since 2010, when request was denied twice and the state's ACLU branch stepped in to file suite on behalf of the organization.
Though the lawsuit has since been dismissed, a third request for the plates approval was granted and it is now available along with other organizational plates such as D.A.R.E. and Habitat for Humanity.
