The 'The Boy Is Mine' duo team up for 'It All Belongs To Me'
It just might be the most important reunion of the year to date. Ladies and gentlemen, Brandy and Monica are back together.
Fourteen years after the pair released "The Boy Is Mine," they've teamed back up on "It All Belongs To Me," which will appear (in two different versions) on Monica's upcoming album, New Life.
If you're looking for a rehash of the competition that drove "The Boy is Mine," you'll be disappointed.
"It is not anything like 'The Boy Is Mine,'" Monica told Rap-Up.com. "At this point, this is where you're taking your power back and we gon' come together. This is totally different than that era and I hope it speaks to all the people who are making diss tracks and going hard on each other. Come together and watch the numbers move."
What's not missing is the still-exciting way the two ladies sing together. And while the song isn't quite ready for the dance floor (and we eagerly await a remix), it's already on repeat around our offices.
And you've gotta love the positive take that Brandy and Monica have on their collaboration.
"This business is all about competition," Brandy told the website. "They forgot about what is the most important, which is two talents coming together. It's just great to come back and do something with [Monica]. This is definitely a blessing."
