Lindsay Lohan to Play Liz Taylor

All the free time she's had since her career began to slip away and her legal woes began to mount must have had Lindsay Lohan feeling like a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

But all that is about to change--unless, of course, the notoriously troubled 25-year-old manages to anger the courts with her wanton disregard for their rulings again. That's right, LiLo is rumored to be thisclose to landing the lead in a Lifetime original movie about one of Hollywood's all-time most glamorous screen legends, Ms. Elizabeth Taylor.

At least that is what a source is telling Access Hollywood.

It would make sense, though. Sure, Liz Taylor managed to keep it together longer and more successfully than Lohan, but both actresses started as kids and both struggled with substance abuse and very public personal lives.

Though Lohan doesn't seem much like the jewelry type herself, we can still totally see her drenched in white diamonds and demanding her hubby buy her even more.

That, incidentally, is what the movie will be about. Titled Liz and Dick, the film will presumably follow the fiery travails of what was once Hollywood's hottest and oft-married couple, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton.

If they were a couple today, would the blogosphere dub them LizArd?

Moving on from that imponderable, it is thrilling to see Lohan (possibly) back on track. She is also slated to host Saturday Night Live March 3, so this really might be shaping up to be a comeback.

If past experience tells us anything it is to not hold our breath. But we do want to oh so badly! Good luck, Lindsay!
