Will the HBO soft-porn vampire soap remain as sexy and gay as ever?
Rumors surfaced that True Blood creator would be stepping down as showrunner, and they seem to be true. But that doesn't mean that Alan Ball, one of the most powerful gay men in Hollywood, will be abandoning his vampire/werewolf/fairy baby. Rather, he's just working on expanding his empire with other pilots for upcoming shows.
"True Blood has been, and will continue to be, a highlight of not only my career but my life," Ball said in a statement. "I know I could step back and the show will continue to thrive as I look forward to new and exciting ventures."
But he had recently told the press that he didn't see himself leaving anytime soon. "I don't have any desire to leave because I'm having more fun than I ever had in my life."
We're obviously huge fans of the show. Most recently, we featured Joe Manganiello on our March cover. And Alexander Skasgard was our November coverboy. So you see, we don't discriminate between werewolf and vampire.
