The Black Party is the legendary leather orgiastic decadent dance party that happens once a year in New York. It is kind of like a rave for gays with S&M and dungeon vibes and insane performances and draws gays from all over the world to rage like frat boys in harnesses.
The Black Party will be held at its usual spot, Roseland, on March 24th. But before then, on March 8 the posters, portraits taken of revelers and other ephemera will be on display for one night only at The Center, as Art + Sin, which sounds more like a party then a gallery show (admission gets you one free cocktail). Robert Mapplethorpe shot the debut poster and for the past 33 years, Robert Zash has documented the attendees (in various states of undress). The organizers, Saint at Large, also promise a live erotic drawing exercise. Black Party Tickets are available here.
