Celebrity stylist admits to struggles with drugs
While we might never be sure what combination of substances keeps his old boss Rachel Zoe functioning, Brad Goreski admits in a new memoir that at one point it was cocaine that he himself struggled with.
Goreski was 19 and in college when he first tried the drug, according to his memoir, Born To Be Brad, excerpted today at UsMagazine.com. "I thought, 'What the hell?'" he writes. The decision lead to a years-long struggle with the drug; finally, however, Goreski decided to make a change...
"I needed to get help. It was early on a December morning. I was in our bathroom, staring in the mirror, and I didn't recognize myself. Finally I felt the weight of the situation," Goreski writes. "I told myself, 'You can carry on like this, and the drugs will be your life.' I wasn't doing anything with my life except wasting it."
After one post break-up relapse, Goreski says he dedicated himself to AA meetings (not NA meetings, which seems a bit odd, but what do we know) and that he's been on the shining path of righteousness ever since.
"It was May 3, 2001. I was determined to stay sober," he writes. "This was day one: the first day of the rest of my life."
