We know that most of you tried on your mother's clothes at least once growing up -- that's a given -- but did you ever try on your grandmother's clothes? If not, then you might want to break out those brooches, nightgowns, pearl necklaces and slippers, because the 5th Annual Golden Girls Tribute Party is here!
The party is set for this Saturday, March 24th at the Stonewall Inn -- and you'd better dress like an old lady, because there's going to be a serious costume contest. After some episode screenings (8 PM), a dance party (10 PM), and some live re-enactments of classic Girls scenes (11 PM), Eliot Glazer (of "Shit New Yorkers Say" fame) will be on hand to judge your granny outfits. And if you left your nightcaps and walkers at home, don't fret: There will be plenty of complementary clothes for you to choose from. (Plus: makeup and hair help!)
Oh, and if you're not in the mood to dress up in drag (or you're a drag king) then there's something for you, too. The organizers are trying something new this year with their "Stan Search," which is exactly as it sounds. They're looking for the best Stan in New York!
Hopefully we'll see you there! It's $10 at the door, and it's free after 1 AM. Just try not to cry during "Thank You for Being a Friend," because then EVERYONE will -- and we wouldn't want the queens' makeup to run.
