Hillary Clinton Adopts Gay Best Friends

If you use the Internet at all like we do, you've probably been linked about a thousand times in the past week to this site, a hilarious set of photos imagining emails between Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a variety of politicos, movie stars, and titans of industry.

As it turns out, you and your pals weren't the only ones IMing about the site all day long--Clinton herself took notice.

According to MetroWeekly, Clinton invited the two men who made the blog, D.C. communications gays Stacy Lambe and Adam Smith, to visit her in her office. And she even allowed the boys to pose for a photo with her featuring all three adorably posed with their phones.

The men hatched a plan for the site over drinks at D.C. gay bar Nellie's, and it immediately seemed like a great idea.

"I just kept coming up with perfect results of people like Anna Wintour and Meryl Streep on their phones, and there's just this natural alignment. I think a lot of people associate those three women in similar circles," Lambe said. "Having seen a couple of videos of Meryl Streep introducing Hillary Clinton at the women's summit, there's just this camaraderie there.

"I may be only speaking for me, but I'm sure a lot of gay men, gay women too, have a lot of respect for them."

As far as meeting the woman who inspired their site, Smith said it was "sort of unbelievable. Her staff had emailed us yesterday, said that they liked the site and that the Secretary wanted to meet us. They asked if we could come over to the State Department, and we of course said, 'Sure, we'd love to!'"
