Feathered hair, big lapels, and polyester suits: while the '70s may have been a fashion disaster, these artifacts of the Disco Age have never looked so good. Matt Damon dons a blond wig and a gold chain to play Liberace's young lover, Scott Thorson, in Steven Soderbergh's upcoming HBO film, Behind the Candelabra.
Michael Douglas plays the flamboyant pianist and certainly looks the part in large sunglasses and a yellow suit. The film is based off Thorson's book, Behind the Candelabra: My Life With Liberace. Cheyenne Jackson has confirmed that he is taking part in the film, though he has not revealed whom he is playing.
It seems that Damon has been getting into character off-set too. His wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, has revealed that she caught her husband trying on her clothes to prepare for the role. "Michael has been in the bedroom and started putting on my diamonds and things," she told Extra. "I'm like, 'Michael. Please take off those pants. Take 'em off baby. Come on, give me back my rocks.'" Here's hoping for a Douglas in drag twitpic.
