Watch the interview, and you'll love Jessica Chastain even more
By now, we've had a panoply of unsimulated sex movies. If you need to catchup: John Cameron Mitchell's Shortbus, Vincent Gallo's Brown Bunny (well, we think Chloe was doing it for real), Michael Winterbottom's 9 Songs (which is really like boring porn), and most recently Travis Mathews's I Want Your Love. But it still seems to get people hot and bothered, and it's something that Lars "I Like to Piss People Off" Von Trier hasn't gone there yet (well he did in Antichrist, but with body doubles, not mainstream actors), so he's gonna get Shia LaBeouf naked and have him doing the deed on screen. If you remember, LaBeouf already went full-frontal in the artsy vid for video for Sigur Ros's "Fjogur Piano." Now he talks to MTV News about his upcoming role in Von Trier's Nymphomaniac.
As LaBeouf states: "It is what you think it is. There's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we're doing [the sex] for real. And anything that is 'illegal' will be shot in blurred images. But other than that, everything is happening."
While we don't know what would exactly be illegal--and suspect it's what his agent told him when LaBeouf initially balked to get him to go along with it--we are sure that it will be some annoying sex stuff. Details are still coming out, but the film is also rumored to star Willem Dafoe, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Von Trier favorite, Nicole Kidman. Hopefully it won't involve as much blood as Antichrist. Yuck!
The best thing about this interview is LaBeouf's Lawless co-star, Jessica Chastain. She of the perfect skin, of the seven films--including The Help--last year (and who will be on Broadway this fall in The Heiress revival). She not only looks embarrassed for LaBeouf, she also wants to school him on how to be a better interviewer. It's priceless.
