The Scissor Sisters are going on indefinite hiatus, they told fans at a London concert Wednesday night, but they promise they'll be back to continue the kiki.
Toward the end of their show at the Camden Roundhouse, which closed the U.K. portion of their tour, the band members announced they're separating for a while, with frontman Jake Shears telling the audience, "This will be the last time we will play in London for quite some time," Gigwise reports.
After the concert, members of the Sisters told Gigwise they have no immediate plans for a follow-up to their latest album, Magic Hour, which features the gay anthem "Let's Have a Kiki." Guitarist Del Marquis is planning to work solo, and singer Ana Matronic has a comic book project. The latter added, however, "Don't you worry -- this isn't the last you've heard of us."
Shears also tweeted and posted on the band's Facebook page, "Thank you London for all your love. And don't worry, we're not going away forever. We'll be back before you know it. With bells on. Love u J."
The New York-based band's tour continues over the coming week with dates in Spain and Italy.
