Whatever your feelings are on Liza Minnelli (we're still trying to forget that Sex and the City 2 cameo, too), her name is pretty much synonymous with showbiz. (Gal's got an EGOT, people.) Before she guest-stars in Season 2 of Smash and returns to Arrested Development this spring, she'll fete her 67th birthday with two concerts with Alan Cumming at New York City's Town Hall (after the first one sold out in record time).
The romp is a transfer of the shows they did in Fire Island last summer. Cumming will cover Annie Lennox, Liza will sing "What Makes a Man a Man"--and we're about to burst into flames. As we wrote after seeing the show in the Grove:
"The two performers launched into a rendition of "Baby It's Cold Outside." The two also performed several numbers from cabaret, and Minnelli pulled in a fantastic "What Makes a Man a Man." The crowds cheered, people screamed "Liza! Liza!" and clapped their hands. Cumming cracked up at all of Liza's schtick -- her perfectly timed, decades of cabaret experience humor was a dream unto itself."
The concerts are March 13 & 14, visit the website for complete details. And watch these clips below:
