When Ryan Murphy's Glee aired on Fox back in spring 2009, we were introduced to the underdogs of McKinley High School--the original glee club, which consisted of just five wall flowers doing jazz hands in their first number.
Flash forward almost four full years later, and there's been about 25 different students who've participated in the group--counting the short stints by Matt and Lauren (Gleeks don't need their last names...come to think of it, was Matt's last name ever shared on the show?).
Returning this Thursday, March 7, from the wedding episode on Valentine's Day (which, in case you missed it: Emma left Will at the alter and there were many a hookups at the party that still went on after--including Kurt and Blaine, and a lesbian trial from Quinn with the single Santana), the Glee-sters will be putting on their 500th musical number! That's still less than Cher, right?
Some of the cast take a trip down memory lane in this clip, sharing their favorite song performances and behind-the-scenes thoughts from some of their firsts. Watch it below:
In the upcoming 500th musical number episode, titled "Girls (and Boys) on Film", the cast members will be performing songs from iconic Hollywood films and stars--including a mash up of "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" and "Material Girl", and "Come What May" from Moulin Rouge performed by Kurt and Blaine.
Tell us below in the comments what your favorite Glee musical numbers have been over the years!
