Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka: the 'Inevitable' Wedding
After the forever-engagement, it will be 'awesome'
Save the date, everybody!
OK, no ceremony is currently being planned, but NPH has confirmed to E! Online that he and fiance David Burtka will indeed wed -- eventually.
"Certainly, we have children and marriage is an appropriate thing to do [as] a part of their well being, so I'm sure it will be inevitable -- and awesome!" said the How I Met Your Mother star on the red carpet at this past weekend's opening of Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
"It's exciting," he continued, addressing last week's historic SCOTUS rulings on DOMA and Prop. 8. "I'm not one who jumps around and cheers and screams because I thought that was inevitable and was going to happen. It's logical. If you look at public opinion polls, everyone, the majority of people, are very for people that fall in love with each other being able to own that."
Are you looking forward to Neil's and David's nuptials or any other inevitably awesome gay celebrity weddings? [h/t Gay.net]
As NPH so cheekily told us in our 2012 LOVE ISSUE,
The callus on my right hand is long-formed--and not from masturbation. I'm dying to move over to the other hand. I'd also like to call him my husband. I'm not the biggest fan of the word "partner": It either means that we run a business together or we're cowboys. "Boyfriend" seems fleeting, like maybe we met two weeks ago. I've been saying "better half" for as long as I've been able to. I think it's a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we're in a relationship, but it would be nice to say "my husband."
