Few noticed in 2001 when Tanqueray discontinued its Malacca Gin (after four years of production).
But it's now back by demand, thanks to resourceful bartenders who started tracking down the remaining bottles to use in revived cocktails, such as the Aviation, which work best with less juniper-y gins.
Citrusy with a little spice, Malacca plays well with Cocchi Americano and dry vermouth in a White Negroni. Just don't dawdle -- this reissue is limited to a 100,000 bottles.
