Kodaline, a Dublin-based Irish alt-rock band, recorded a live, acoustic version of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis & Mary Lambert's "Same Love"--and it's pretty damn great. Rather than have the Macklemore rap, it's all sung beautifully by lead singer Steve Garrigan (although nothing will replace Out100 honoree and Readers' Choice Award nominated Mary Lambert in our eyes) and has some gorgeous piano backing. Even better, this means that Macklemore's personal story about thinking he was gay and the message of acceptance of same-sex love has transcended Seattle, the United States, and one straight man's personal struggle to include multitudes.
What do you think? Better than the original?
