WATCH: Video for David Bowie's 'I'd Rather Be High (Venetian Mix)'
We last saw David Bowie singing "I'd Rather Be High," from his album The Next Day, in "L'Invitation au Voyage," the ad campaign for Louis Vuitton. But the song continues to evolve with this new video for "I'd Rather Be High (Venetian Mix)" directed by Tom Hingston, the London based graphic designer and director. The video combines a pastiche of black-and-white WWII images that seems to carry an anti-war message that complements the chorus:
I'd rather be high
I'd rather be flying
I'd rather be dead
Or out of my head
Than training these guns on those men in the sand
I'd rather be high...
