The Millionaire Matchmaker slurs bisexuals, and not for the first time
PerezHilton.com notes that Millionaire Matchmaker's Patti Stanger is still sticking her foot in her mouth (and a size 13 could fit) about bisexuals. Specifically, she thinks bi men don't exist.
On the Bethenny show Tuesday, she said she'd never marry a bi guy. "Uh, never! Never. Never. And if they're bisexual, they're gay!"
On the second season of her own show, Stanger told a client that bisexual women "are not the women you want to be the mother of your children." Woah.
Setting aside the fact that she's factually wrong on both accounts, Stanger herself was in a same-sex relationship for a year! She dates men now, but dated women in the past. Would that make her bisexual as well--or at least at one point? Or is she asserting a right to label her orientation however she chooses? If the latter, why wouldn't a bisexual man be able to do the same?
Stanger was in a relationship with a woman ten years her senior (a woman who was either a saint or hard of hearing), and she told Jenny "Vaccination-Schmaccination" McCarthy all about it. And when she did it, she described herself as a gay rights supporter! That's some support you've shown, Miz Stang.
If this boils down to a simple vocabulary problem, we can loan you our Merriam-Webster.
