Much to the surprise of many, Beyonce is one of the breakout stars of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The singer, while not an athlete or remotely involved in the competition, has become the meme of the Games thanks to #Surfboardt.
It seems that remixing the competition to "Drunk in Love" is not only a trend but also a blessed surprise. Among the "victims" of the Bey remix treatment are U.S. luger Kate Hansen and most of the ice skating competition.
When Hansen was caught dancing during her warm-up, it only felt right to pair her #Surfbort moves with Bey. (It turns out she was listening to Bey at the time.)
On the rink, U.S. ice dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White's routine gets re-dubbed with the same song. BuzzFeed even breaks down the routine bit by bit to give fans the most seamless mash up.
We always knew everything sounded better with Bey involved but we never knew it had the potential to make the Olympics club-friendly. With so many events yet to be seen, we are putting out requests for curling, those bobsledding boys and Ashley Wagner to get some Bey love. Until then, keep on dancing Hansen!
