"Everybody is dying for something," Elizabeth Banks laughs when our conversation moves to Pitch Perfect 2. The actress may be promoting her upcoming comedy, Walk of Shame, co-starring James Marsden but we couldn't help but to ask about the upcoming sequel to the sleeper hit, which she's currently shooting in Louisiana.
"They're all graduating seniors," Banks says of the film's stars, Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. Both played freshmen who join the Barden Bellas and eventually take the all-female a cappella group to national championship.
Banks also confirms that John Michael Higgins will be returning. Higgins hilariously played one of the ICCAs commentators alongside Banks' Gail Abernathy-McKadden. "We will see a little more of Gail and John and delve into their dynamic," Banks says before teasing the potential for more of Gail's back-story. "You're going to learn more about why she has three last names."
Even though Gail was in the a cappella collegiate group, Menstrual Cycles, Banks says she will not be singing in the sequel. It's a shame because that truly would have been aca-awesome.
Walk of Shame debuts in theaters nationwide on May 2.
