How many Hairspray stars does it take to honor Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman? A bunch.
At the New York Pops on Monday, tons of fans of Hairspray (the 1988 John Waters film starring Ricki Lake as Tracy Turnblad(, Hairspray (the 2002 broadway musical starring Marissa Jaret Winokur as Tracy Turnblad and based on the 1988 movie), and Hairspray (the 2007 musical movie starring Nikki Blonsky and based on the 2002 Broadway musical which was based on the 1988 film)--OMG, are you still with me?--came out to celebrate the writers of the music (Shaiman) and lyrics (Shaiman and Wittman) of the musicals.
Blonsky sang a version of the musical's opening song, "Good Morning, Baltimore." Winokur joined the other members of the original Broadway cast, including Matthew Morrison (Glee) and Laura Bell Bundy, to sing "You Can't Stop the Beat."
But possibly the best thing to come out of the show was this image:

For kicks, here's "Good Morning Baltimore," as performed by Blonsky in the 2007 movie.
And Winokur pre-Glee Morrison (his hair is nearly as big as Tracy's) singing "You Can't Stop the Beat" on The Today Show.
