Directed by Ben Cotner & Ryan White, the documentary gives an inside look at the groundbreaking Supreme Court case that overturned Proposition 8
Five years in the making, The Case Against 8 provides exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage of the case that overtuned California's ban on same-sex marriage. The filmmakers were granted access to the powerhouse legal team of Ted Olson and David Boies, who previously faced off as opposing counsel in Bush v. Gore, along with the four plaintiffs in the suit--Kris Perry & Sandy Stier; Jeff Zarrillo & Paul Katami--and provides a definitive account of the battle that effectively ended marriage discrimination in California. It will premiere in theaters June 6 and debuts on HBO on June 23, 2014.
