Exclusive: Audra Isadora Covers "Babooshka" by Kate Bush
Armed with a booming voice that is never lacking in its soulful quality, singer Audra Isadora is prepping the release of her self-titled EP with a cover of Kate Bush's "Babooshka."
Isadora lends a new spin to the classic track by letting the haunting tones within her voice do all of the talking. The singer simultaneously pays tribute to a great artist while making the song something all of her own -- a true showcase of a natural and growing talent.
Isadora mixes her striking uniqueness and unconventionality into the perfect package. The New York City-based singer comes armed with a BFA in musical theatre, a talent for the oboe -- her other instrument of choice -- and a grandiose stage presence, something akin to David Bowie.
On her new EP, available on July 8, Isadora shows off a broad range of vocal talents and tastes. Ranging from bold and colorful on "Creature of Desire" to '90s soul on "Sparrow Song," the singer creates an eclectic mix of high-energy musicality and intimacy that many artists wish they could capture in one album alone.
