Throwback Thursday: François Sagat Celebrates His Independence
The porn star goes to war with his image and career
Most fans of Francois Sagat probably know him for his work in the porn industry, which saw him starring in over 40 films since 2005. However, by 2011--when he was photographed by Terry Richardson for the March issue--the 32-year-old French actor was eyeing life beyond adult entertainment.
After testing the waters in Saw VI, Sagat took on two leading roles in Bruce LaBruce's L.A. Zombie and the French film, Man at Bath, as a gay hustler. When he talked to Out magazine, Sagat was mindful of the difficult transition porn stars have crossing over into mainstream roles but that hasn't stopped the actor from taking on the challenge.
Since then--having officially retired from porn in 2013--he has tried everything from music to TV. Sagat has most recently found success in fashion with his line, Kick Sagat--a collaboration with Parisian designer Pierre-Henri.
Check out two bonus images of the photo shoot, which saw Sagat going to war with his image (and anyone who got in his way). The actor may be French but he's certainly got that independent spirit.
