Ahead of the debut of The Flash, an Arrow spin-off coming to the CW on October 7, executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg revealed two gay characters will appear in the first season.
Unlike NBC, which has erased Constantine's bisexuality, Berlanti and Kreisberg have no intention of hiding the sexuality of David Singh, a gay DC Comics character. Patrick Sabongui will portray the comic's closeted crime lab director in an upcoming recurring role on the show.
In addition to Singh, the producers teased another gay character will be introduced. Without giving away who it is, the two told The Huffington Post it is someone who already exists in the DC universe.
As fans wait to find out who will be joining the series, they can look forward to a "mega-crossover event" during the eighth episodes of both Arrow and The Flash. Given that both shows exist in the same universe, there will be multiple levels of crossovers to come: "the cameo crossover, the big crossover, and then the epic crossover," Kreisberg said.
