FX's resident horror series released through The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday a special first look at the world of its upcoming fourth season with artwork that depicts the series' stable of actors in their previously announcedFreak Show roles.
This season of the anthology, set in 1952 in Jupiter, Florida, tells the story of Emmy-winning star Jessica Lange's German expat Elsa Mars as she operates one of the last freak shows in the country. Though character names were included in the leak as well as a Comic Con cast list, details were sparse.
Now that FX's newly revealed poster is out, it confirms that Michael Chiklis' Evan Del Toreado will be a strong man and that Emmy-winner Kathy Bates' Ethel Darling will be a bearded lady.
In addition, the poster shows the first front view of Sarah Paulson's dual role as the siamese twins Bette and Dot. Yesterday, we reported that Denis O'Hare allegedly leaked the title for the Halloween episode, titled "Edward Mondrake Pt. 1" when he shared a photo via Twitter.
The poster also encourages fans to use the hashtag "WirSindAlleFreaks," a German phrase that translates to English as "We are all freaks." Regarding the upcoming season's cast, show co-creator Ryan Murphy also told The Hollywood Reporter: "The special-ability cast that we have is amazing and I feel so thrilled...They feel part of something for perhaps the first time in their life and that's an amazing thing."
Freak Show is set to premiere on Wednesday, October 8th on FX.
